Jeffji - I am always so honored that we get to work together in all the ways we do - in Nepal, in our writing and in our lives. We are good, old friends. I thought about you before the show. All this vulnerability and your courage in the face of it. I bow to you, friend. The show was so rich and I was so happy for you.
You know I've always loved, respected, admired your writing (and I think 108 Objects a delicious masterpiece), but there's a special quality about what you're putting out lately, can't put my finger on it... I did notice, before I read this report from San Leandro, that I was more excited to see what you had to say than I ever remember being before -- and that's saying a lot! Congratulations on finding a way to wring something valuable for yourself (and your audience full of people like me) out of this latest unenviable chapter of your incredible life.
Fantastic! I'm so glad it went well! And I wish Daniel and I could have made it there. I look forward to catching you the next time. I really relate to the way you talk to yourself within your journal. We are very much alike in that way. Congratulations and big hugs.
Amen, Kristina, and amen Jeff! Thank you for this, and for everything else you do.
I have this image I can't put elegantly into words, but you know how there are those people who are invariably the ones who walk into the unseen cobwebs and end up wearing them, carrying them on shoulders, hats, hair, etc? I've always thought of you as the sort of person who does that with stories - you just walk into them, and carry them along for the rest of us to see and hear and share.
I’m so happy to read about your positive experience with this!! I can only imagine the journey to move through it, but it sounds like you had wonderful support along the way. ❤️
Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the willingness to show up and #BeAFuckingProfessional even in its midst. Congrats, Jeff. Wish I could have been there. I'm sure the show, like the book it was based on, was just great!
Thanks to your friend Laurie for urging you to share your private thoughts about performing in the presence of your "new traveling companion." I found what you wrote so valuable, especially, "Be excited by what you're doing. Be proud of what you're doing. Be grateful for what you're doing. Have fun with what you're doing. And above all, be professional. Be fucking professional." Words to live by, especially when opportunities come your way that scare the bejesus out of you.

Thank you, dearest Lolo, We've been inspiring each other for 40 years. What a gift!

Congratulations. So happy for you that it worked out well and that you went into it with a healthy mind set.

That's a weird image, Pablo, a bit unsettling, but I'll share my cobwebs with you any time.

It couldn’t have gone any other way. Always standing for you. 🙌🏻
You were brilliant! Standing ovation well deserved!
Enjoyed the show very much, as did my friend who came with me. Not very diffreent from 2013, when I first saw you perform!
Look forward to reading more of your substacks and more communications from you.
I love the term pronoia. I will hold onto that one!
WHAT a good writer you are. Wish I could have seen the show!
Jeff, you make me smile. Go get'em friend.
I totally believe in pronoia. Lovely article, Jeff. 👏💕😊

Yes, Erin, I know you totally get it! So looking forward to our conversation in September!
Me too!
